Marquand Park
Marquand Park
Description
Located in the center of Princeton, Marquand Park and Arboretum offers a diverse environment of trees and shrubs and playground facilities for passive recreation, enjoyment of nature and public education. The property was developed from a farm purchased in 1842 and was inspired by the great English landscape architects of the 19th century. Although most of the original garden was developed with expansive lawns and clusters of trees, a wooded area on the east side of the estate remains relatively untouched and preserves original New Jersey forest trees, many of which are over 200 years old.
