Fairview Cemetery
Fairview Cemetery, founded in 1868, consists of 105 landscaped acres with 99 species/cultivars of trees represented on its grounds. Approximately half of the representative trees are native to North America, with the other half native to Europe and Asia. One specimen of each species/cultivar, selected as the most remarkable representative on the grounds, is labelled with its scientific name, its common name, and a number. A printed Visitor’s Guide brochure subtitled The Trees of Fairview Cemetery is available for free at the cemetery’s office. It lists the scientific and common names of all the trees and contains a map of the cemetery with each tree’s location indicated by its number on the map. An electronic version of this brochure is available on the cemetery’s website (fairviewcemetery1.net).
