Several original beech trees still stand from the 1800’s with many of the 100’s of remaining trees providing homes for many of the wildlife within the cemetery, several of the larger trees in the upper section near the canal have been seen with a resting pair of Eagles.

Each year the cemetery holds an Arbor Day celebration with over 300 school kids attending and plants 12 to 15 new trees each year.
