Los Angeles Arboretum earns 2017 Preservation Award from the L.A. Conservancy

In recognition of a comprehensive assessment of its historical resources, the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden has earned the prestigious 2017 Preservation Award from the Los Angeles Conservancy.

The L.A. Conservancy said the Arboretum’s meticulously detailed Cultural Landscape Report and Treatment Plan “is an exemplary document that serves as a model for botanic gardens nationwide.” It noted, “As part of this project, the entire landscape and built environment was surveyed, and the Arboretum was determined as eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district. All contributing buildings, structures, and landscape features were documented and evaluated.
